Getting Real Chapter 3: Embrace Constraints,Be yourself

in this chapter, Ruby is now being described. “When it comes to web technology, change must be easy and cheap.” Ruby makes the impossible to be possible. how? as my professor often tells us, a 30 days application in java is just 3 days developing stage in ruby. Mass is described by this chapter as the number. It’s the midpoint of all the things that are happening. Increasing the mass is a problem while decreasing it is good. Less software, less coding is a good example of decreasing the mass. Having a huge number of software in the hard drive gives us so many things to update. So many things to think about.Creating an application or software gives us more coding because we should run these applications in our own machines.

The need of desktop applications give us a lot of costs. Before we could have a single software with a single function, we should buy it first so that we could use it legally. Web applications are the answer for our unhealthy pockets. Using web applications, we could use multiple useful applications without paying a single peso. There are so many open-source applications to choose from that can be use in our everyday lives. Many of the companies today are now shifting from desktop applications to web application because of its usability and cost efficiency.

According to this chapter, in developing a web application, start only with 3. a Designer, a developer and a sweeper. someone who can be in the two worlds If we can build a version one with only 3 people, we could still do the next version with those 3 persons involved.

Lastly, Be yourself. you should not pretend to be someone else. To create an application is a choice, not a burden to carry on.
